China Plans to Introduce AI Lifecycle Safety Regulation Standards
Officials from China's National Development and Reform Commission, including Wang Ruomeng, stated that China is accelerating legislation on artificial intelligence (AI) and will implement lifecycle regulation on the development and application of AI, covering aspects such as data and computing power. This set of standards aims to prevent the risks of AI going out of control and is considered one of the more comprehensive AI safety guidelines. The regulation will involve major developers such as DeepSeek, Moonlight, and Alibaba, which are pushing to create products that can compete with top models from OpenAI and Anthropic.
