Coolblue and Bol Stop Selling Ledger Wallets
Coolblue, Bol, MediaMarkt, and Amac have halted the sale of Ledger wallets as a precaution. This follows an international fraud case in which Ledger devices were tampered with using hidden electronics, allowing attackers to access victims' crypto. Coolblue and Bol state that they have not received any reports of suspicious devices. MediaMarkt had already suspended sales in the Netherlands and Belgium earlier. Amac removed the last available device from its webshop. Ledger emphasizes that their own chips, software, and servers have not been hacked and that the modifications were made outside the company. So far, there is no confirmation that Dutch customers have purchased a manipulated device. The sales halt is a precautionary measure and not a recall. Ledger has instructed sellers to keep the devices out of customers' reach and reminds them that returned wallets must not be resold. Customers with questions are referred to Ledger by the stores.
