Four Cryptocurrency Security Threats Occurred Within 12 Hours
In the cryptocurrency market, four incidents were reported within 12 hours, including governance proposal impersonation, vault vulnerabilities, hardware wallet phishing, and attacks on X accounts. AMBCrypto reported an increase in cryptocurrency security threats through cases involving users of Olas, Radio, Ledger, and Trezor, as well as exposure of X accounts. Defimon Alerts captured a malicious governance proposal targeting Olas, where the attacker attempted to use autonolas-deployer.eth ENS to propose a structure that could siphon off 40.196 ETH. Olas operates an on-chain proposal and governance system on its official site, and if the malicious proposal passes, it could lead to fund transfers. Reports related to Radio indicated a loss of 9.25 ETH from a vault based on stETH. Ledger warned users not to verify unauthorized transactions on phishing guidance pages and not to enter recovery phrases outside of their devices. X accounts also became attack vectors, with reports stating that the X account of Jesse Pollack was compromised through third-party app connections. According to Chainalysis, the estimated amount of cryptocurrency fraud in 2025 is projected to reach $17 billion, with AI-driven scams being 4.5 times more profitable than traditional scams. This incident illustrates how points of user trust can be exploited as attack vectors.
