Grayscale: Ethereum Leads in Five Key Metrics

By: incrypted.com|11/07/2026 15:55:00

Ethereum ranks first among smart contract blockchains in five metrics according to Grayscale. These include stablecoin volume, tokenized assets, number of applications, developers, and investment products. The network hosts nearly 140 billion stablecoins and accounts for about 40% of all tokenized assets. Grayscale emphasizes that Ethereum plays a crucial role in shaping a new financial system, facilitating the movement of money and assets with lower barriers and costs. The five areas where Ethereum outperforms competitors are: 1) Stablecoins: Ethereum holds nearly half of all stablecoins, allowing users to store funds in dollars via blockchain; 2) Tokenized assets: Ethereum captures around 40% of this market, more than double that of the next largest blockchain; 3) Applications: Over 2000 applications operate on the network, with an additional 6000 in its layer two ecosystem; 4) Developers: More developers work on Ethereum than any other network; 5) Investment products: US investors can access the asset through exchange products with total assets exceeding 13 billion and CME futures with open interest over 3 billion. Grayscale notes that the restructuring of the financial system will require various technologies, with blockchains like Ethereum serving as the foundational layer.
