SEC Approves Cboe to List Binary Options Linked to Coinbase, Robinhood, and MARA
The SEC has approved Cboe to list binary options linked to key performance indicators of Coinbase, Robinhood, and MARA. Traders can establish positions based on metrics such as Coinbase's trading volume, Marathon's Bitcoin production, and Robinhood's customer count and revenue. Robinhood is expected to be the first retail brokerage to offer such products. The SEC approved this securities options structure while indicating that contracts with different structures may still fall under CFTC jurisdiction. SEC Chairman Paul S. Atkins stated that this move reflects a new spirit of coordination, innovation, and investor choice.
