Web3 Developer brucexu.eth Falls Victim to Recruitment Phishing, Cursor Project Infected with Trojan
Web3 developer brucexu.eth revealed that he encountered a fake recruitment phishing incident in January this year. After opening the directory of the Cursor project provided by the attacker, his device was infected with a Trojan, although no asset loss occurred in the end. The attacker provided a code repository through the recruitment process, and brucexu.eth initially thought it was safe to only view the code without running it. However, after analyzing the sample, Yu Xian, the founder of Slow Mist, warned that opening the project directory could also trigger malicious code. After confirming the infection, brucexu.eth transferred assets, rotated credentials, and reinstalled the system.
